Workshops for Children
We provide a quality education to children, and help them achieve their full potential by providing them with professional training, guidance and advice.
1. GM Vishnu's Chess Club
We, GM V.Vishnu Prasanna and WIM Dr. Raghavi VIshnu Prasanna are the founders of GM Vishnu’s Chess Club (GMVCC). For us, this has been a long-awaited dream come true. Chess has played a significant role in both of our lives. Our main influences date back to our early chess days. Despite having trained with a variety of instructors, Ramani Chess Center (for Vishnu) and Tal Chess Club (for Raghavi) have always held a special place in our hearts. Our goal is to establish an environment in which a student’s passion can be nourished while simultaneously receiving the essential education.
Chess is an intellectual, fun social activity that stimulates the brain. It encourages children and adults to become positive and confident decision makers. It facilitates deep work and encourages children to concentrate for prolonged periods of time, which is a very important skill that is becoming increasingly scarce. It also instills in children the value of strategy, as well as the ability to recognise and observe patterns, enhancing their overall cognitive capacities. It strengthens the mind by assisting in dealing with the ups and downs of wins and losses. In a nutshell, chess is an art, a science, and a sport all rolled into one.
2. Grandmaster V. Vishnu Prasanna
I started playing chess relatively late (around 12 years of age). My initial training was quite unstructured, which I believe helped mould me into the player I am now. On the path to becoming a Grandmaster, I worked with various coaches and players, India and overseas. I eventually came up with my own teaching ideas and approaches.
3. Woman International Master Dr.Raghavi Vishnu Prasanna
Chess was initially a part of several other extra-curricular activities for me, but became my main passion. During my schooling, I won 5 national championships including winning the National Juniors(Under-19) at the age of 14. I also won a Silver mdda, in the Commonwealth Championship.
4. Vision and Mission
We pride ourselves not just in our passion towards the game but also being able to kindle the same in our students.
The aim of the club is to make the game of chess approachable to anyone (adult and child alike) who is passionate or curious about it.
